Hello
I need to move all folders off of a drive as that drive is being replaced.
One of those folders is FTDATA. Can I just stop SQL Server, move the folder,
modify the FULLTEXTDEFAULTPATH in the registry to point to the new location,
and restart SQL Server? Or, given that this application does not use Full
Text Search, does it even matter (i.e there are no full text catalogs being
populated)?
Thanks for any info!

Steve,
You should review KB article 240867 (Q240867) "INF: How to Move, Copy, and
Backup Full-Text Catalog Folders and Files" at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;240867
If you're not using the FTS features, you can drop the FT Catalog as this
will remove the FT Catalog folder & files and then disenable the database
for FT use.
