Moving to a SAN

What should one consider when moving SQL Servers to a backened SAN ?Hi
You will need to consider most of the normal things as you would moving to
any new hardware!
Some SAN specific requirements would cover LUN/Disc configuration/layout,
SAN replication requirements, LUN alignment. You would need to talk these
over with the SAN engineer/architect.
You may want to look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/254321/
Your SAN vendor should also have some whitepapers specific to running SQL
Server on their hardware.

A step further and depending on how much you can get from your SAN folks,
you can go over the same RAID config issues and the file layout exercise as
you would with a convenitonal RAID set.
